Today, we are celebrating some of the people who make our batch program, our Series A Program, Work at a Startup, and YC Continuity successful — and we’re recognizing their contributions through the following promotions.
Brad Flora, YC Group Partner
After three batches as a Visiting Group Partner, Brad Flora is joining YC as a Group Partner. Brad was co-founder and CEO of Perfect Audience, an ad network funded by Y Combinator in 2011, acquired by Marin Software in 2014 and used by companies like Eventbrite, Atlassian, and New Relic to market to more than a billion people. He is an active angel investor, occasional contributor for Slate.com and lives in San Francisco with his wife and young son. He has a BA from Princeton University in English and an MS in Journalism from Northwestern.
Janelle Tam, Series A Program Director
As Series A Program Director, Janelle Tam runs YC’s Series A Program, which helps YC founders raise their Series As on attractive terms from the best investors. Once founders have raised their As, the program also teaches them best practices in building this new phase of their company.
Alex Petersen, Senior Legal Counsel
As a member of the YC legal team, Alex Petersen supports YC in a wide variety of different ways. These include handling YC’s batch investments and other portfolio company transactions like financings and exits, helping YC founders with legal questions, assisting with YC internal legal matters, and dealing with all sorts of other odds and ends that come through YC’s door on any given day.
Ryan Choi, Director of Work at a Startup
Work at a Startup is YC’s hiring platform with over 700 YC startups actively hiring across 1400+ open roles. Ryan Choi and his team have built tools to help job seekers discover up-and-coming YC companies and connect directly with founders. (Last year alone, YC helped place over 250 people at YC startups.) Ryan also runs programs to help YC companies hire, including our annual Job Expo, Tech Talk series, and internship programs. Nic Dardenne, YC Continuity Principal
As a principal, Nic Dardenne works closely with growth-stage founders in the YC community to solve business and company-building challenges as they scale. Nic also evaluates investment opportunities for YC’s Continuity fund and has helped support the teams at Brex, Convoy, Groww, Monzo, Rappi, Segment, Snapdocs, and Vouch since joining YC.
Matt Bogrand, YC Continuity Principal
As a principal, Matt Bogrand works closely with growth-stage founders in the YC community to solve business and company-building challenges as they scale. Matt also evaluates investment opportunities for YC’s Continuity fund and has helped support the teams at Gusto, Zapier, Faire, Ironclad, GitLab, Lob, Triplebyte, and Podium since joining YC.
